The MTech Program commenced in 2002 with a partnership between Shell International Exploration and Production BV and Curtin University of Technology for the delivery of an inhouse Shell Masters degree program exclusively for Shell employees. In its seventh year, Shell and Curtin continue to offer a high-quality and recognised degree program to Shell employees.
In an innovative new approach to meeting the training needs of industry, the Curtin MTech program is now available worldwide to graduate engineers working full-time in the oil and gas industry. Participants in countries all over the world can complete the online accreditation of industry training courses offered by internationally regarded training providers PetroSkills and Jee. Attendees of accredited industry training courses, can now complete a Masters degree in Petroleum Technology with Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia, through completion of university assessments and projects. All without ever having to attend the university campus. Through workplace-based learning, attendance of accredited technical training courses, and completion of university assessment, participants can achieve the Master of Technology (Petroleum Technology) degree over a 2-4 year period, part-time.
